Reports on Cutting-Edge Research in Business, Finance & Economics

About Us

SmartEconomist.com is the concept of SmartEconomist Ltd (formerly Insights Consulting), a UK-based publishing company. Back in 1996, we launched Insights Into Finance and Economics, a print newsletter read by busy executives, CFOs, bankers, managers, policymakers, consultants and researchers at prestigious institutions such as OECD, Bank of America, McKinsey and Mitsubishi Research Institute. In April 2005, we decided to make this effective tool available to a wider audience: SmartEconomist.com was born.

Ok, the idea is not new - but what is SmartEconomist.com?

If your profession requires knowledge of the latest research in economics, finance and strategic management, you may be in trouble. Today, academics circulate their preliminary findings in the form of "Working Papers" or WPs; hundreds of WPs are released each month. Can you tell the good WPs from the bad ones? Do you have the time to read lengthy WPs loaded with jargon and formulas?

If you can not answer "yes" to both questions, SmartEconomist.com is the working tool you need! Our economists select and review the best, most relevant WPs in economics, finance and business. Each Report is brief, unbiased and jargon-free, with practical highlights and a detailed review - new Reports are constantly published.

We invite you to read our Free Reports and Why Subscribe? page: if you like what we do, you may Subscribe to gain access to all our Reports - which you can Quick Search by keyword or Browse by Topic. For up-to-date information about our new Reports and Interviews, you can subscribe to our RSS Feed.

SmartEconomist.com is also the home of Smart Interviews, where you can submit your questions to cutting-edge economists, and Silly Economist, a successful feature exposing the ironic side of serious economic news.

In the News Room you'll discover that, in spite of its brief history, SmartEconomist.com has already been praised by leading international magazines: I hope you'll like it too!
